How do I get yahoo mail forwarded and retrieved from my Mac Mail? Use something called POP???

I want to use Mac Mail application at home to retrieve and send mail and to see my folders and use my contact list but fundamentally not change my yahoo mail address which all my friends know. Please help.How do I get yahoo mail forwarded and retrieved from my Mac Mail? Use something called POP???
