In short, you can't.



In long, you can, but it takes some work. It really depends on the type of modem you have. Most newer modems require a JTag and some solder to hack, allowing you to change the MAC address on command.



Chances are your ISP wouldn't like you hacking your modem to change your MAC address, and if you ISP finds out you have a hacked modem they can deny you service and permanently suspend your account.



If you're trying to change your MAC address to get free internet, be very careful. I would suggest you don't do it at all.

You will probably need to view the html page that is often built into routers and modems for configuration, usually to get onto its internal web page you need to type into your browser http://192.168.1.1 (this is a default ip address for most routers firewalls and modems) and change the settings from there (if your web browser does not have java installed or enabled it may not work) also some require a secure connection so type an s after the http as such https://192.168.1.1 if none of this works contact the manufacturer of the modem.
