You can just change it. You should know it may cause problems if you duplicate one that is already in use in your network.



In XP you would go to the Control Panel, Network Connections, then right click on the connection (probably Local Area Connection), select Properties then click on the ';Configure'; button. In the Advanced tab you will see a list under Property. Select Network Address. Check the radio button for the Value box and enter the mac address you want there and click OK.



For Vista it would be easier to use a program to make the change.
