Even though it's written for the reverse case (national Google page instead of Google.com), you could follow the recipe on this Google Web Search Help page to set your default Google domain:
http://www.google.com/support/websearch/
What this page doesn't make explicit:
You should do this from a Google home page (just the domain), *not* a search results page. Start by deleting any Google cookies you have (and restart any open browsers, or reboot to make sure temporary cookies are removed as well), but do make sure cookies are enabled to inform Google what your preferred Google domain is.
